DIY: Makeup Brush Holder

Something that drives me crazy in the mornings is not finding my makeup brushes I use on a daily... There's always an eye shadow brush that I can't find so I settle for a brush that doesn't blend as well as the one I can't find in the moment...................

So, I thought to myself WOULDN'T IT BE EASIER IF I HAD A PLACE WHERE I CAN FIND EVERYTHING I NEED IN THE MORNINGS?
LIGHT BULB! *in a Gru voice* What do I have now that I can use as a makeup brush holder?
I look around in my room and saw my candle lit!

My mason candle jar is from Bath & Body Works and it was a gift from Christmas. I'm not sure on the pricing but you can use any old jar at home.

What you'll need: (If you are using a candle jar)

  • dish washing soap
  • dish washing scrub
  • dinner knife
Steps:
  1. I lit my candle till it turned into liquid and threw it down the sink.
  2. I put some dish washing soap in the candle mason jar and put water in afterwards.
  3. I then, put the dinner knife in there and started mixing the dish washing soap and water together.
  4. With the dinner knife I started to scrap whatever wax was left in the jar.
  5. Then, I started to rinse the jar and use a dish washing scrub.

and Ta-da! you have your own DIY makeup brush holder! You don't only have to use it for makeup brushes, you can use it for anything you'd like... An idea would be a q-tip holder. It's accessible.

You also have the option of decorating it, if you'd like. But for me personally I prefer simplicity...

I filled my mason candle jar with vase filler that I purchased from a dollar store. It helps keep the brushes in place.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

X,
Jess
